Montenegrin male dolls

The Montenegrin male dolls are wonderfully colourful and quite detailed and are a lot harder to find than the male Serbian dolls of the range distributed by Narodna Radinost.

They all wear a red pill box hat with black ribbon trim and the top of the hat always has gold embroidery on it.  A  vest is worn of red with gold cord embroidery and over that the very distinctive jacket with the sleeves which hang over the top of the vest ( see detail below). A wide sash is worn around the waist and the blue trousers are baggy at the top and taper into the white socks with garters Opanci, the leather moccasins common to the region, are often white but can be a brown colour also.

The jacket comes in red and blue variations.
