Serbian male doll

Pictured here is an 8 inch cloth over wire armature male doll wearing the regional costume of Sumadija, Serbia. He is an older, lighter weight doll from the 1950's and is in mint condition.

He wears a wonderful brown woollen felt vest trimmed with braid and matching jodhpurs. At his waist is the traditional woven red sash and his shoes are made of green leather.

His cream coloured shirt is particularly nice with the cuffs and collar and lovely embroidered trim down the front.

This doll was tagged with a Narodna Radinost label. There seem to be 2 types of Narodna Radinost labels in circulation: a round label picture here , and a larger rectangular label of the type seen here.

He came in a box branded Narodna Radinost and a price tag indicating he was $2.29 and was purchased from The May Co.
