Farewell Josien Buijs

Earlier this month Josien Buijs passed away. A long time doll collector with over 2000 national costume dolls, she shared her vast collection and abundant knowledge via her website and Facebook group dedicated to identifying national costume dolls. 

I never met Josien in person, but when I first started collecting dolls I consulted her website regularly and learnt so much from it. In contact I had with her via email she was generous and friendly and she would often mention this blog on her Facebook page, assisting people to identify their Yugoslavian folk dolls. 

So thanks Josien. Thanks for your beautiful website. Thanks for helping me to identify my dolls. But mosty thank you for spreading the love for national costume dolls.
