I was happy to recently acquire this photo published in the St Louis Post-Dispatch,Missouri USA on Wednesday July 6 1955. I love it for two reasons. Firstly because it is a great picture of a beautiful pair of 12" Serbian dolls made by Narodna Radinost. Secondly, and more importantly, because the photo shows the dolls as a gift from a newly arrived family from Yugoslavia to their American family. A reminder of the culture and traditions of the old country as people seek to make a new life in a different country.
