Your Dolls




Pictured above are a pair of delightful 3 inch dolls dressed in the folk costume of Sumadija, Serbia. They belong to Mary from New York who has very kindly let me post them here.

Even in the smaller sizes the Narodna Radinost dolls have some wonderful details and I especially like the golden thread used on the female vest and the embroidered roses on the shirt, apron and skirt. In the smaller sizes the red ribbon used to tie the sleeves at the elbow on the female doll is replaced by red yarn as seen above. These dolls were sold, amongst other places, in the pages of the Mark Farmer Co catalogue and the page reproduced below is from Winter 1961-62.
